We always begin with a brief conversation about your symptoms, lifestyle, physical demands, injury/surgery history, and any relevant information that supports a smooth session (eg. cycle-phase, digestive issues, jaw tension, general sensitivity)
After we clarify what you need in that session, I will instruct you how we will commence and then step out of the room to allow you to remove your outer cloths (underwear stays on, bras off if needed).
Once you are ready and comfortable, I will commence the session.
There is a general focus on utilising the breath to support a more parasympathetic response (rest/digest) as well as guiding you with some gentle movements that help to increase the efficacy of the strokes.
For first-time clients, I usually begin with seated work on the neck, shoulders & spine, before progressing to the table, where the planned approach for that session continues.

Fascia is a type of connective tissue that has been found to connect throughout our body without separation.
It is a thin & web-like wrapping that encases muscle, bone, organs, and nerves, providing structure and transferring kinetic energy through its matrix-like network.
-
Fascia is constantly responding to the load of gravity, movement and exercise, as well as providing glide & structure to our internal landscape.
Due to the influence of movement, posture and lifestyle, fascia can lose its elastic gliding quality and become 'stuck,' creating a sense of tightness, restriction and tension in the body during movement and in static postures.
Releasing fascia restores glide in movement, and contributes to a sense of space & lightness in the body.
Myofascial Release returns the fascia to its original form and supports recovery, relieves tension and improves range of motion.
